Bare root roses

Mali dug up one Maria Shriver and I did the other. He took a nice gatchi out so ended up cutting a lot of roots on the sides while I removed dirt around the plant and gently pulled it out with no gatchi but intact roots. Both were dipped in water with Superthrive for 15 minutes. One is now in ground in a new location while the other is in a pot.

Both will survive.Root ball is not important these days.

True Khan Saheb. However I think more roots will give a head start. I bought bare root from USA and good companies send mostly complete roots and I have noticed they so much better than those with most roots cut. Overseas it saves them packaging and space if they prune roots.

You are right Khan sb & Bare rooted means without any soil ball.

Izhar these plants should root without problem. It's the cuttings which I'm concerned about. This year is my second attempt at rooting rose cuttings. My medium this year is 75% sand and 25% bhal. I'm making a slight approx one inch stripping on the rose dip in water containing anti-fungal + Superthrive then dip in rooting powder. After that I water with the anti-fungal + Superthrive solution. Another new thing I'm trying this year is that they are going in the greenhouse right way so they can stay warm. Let's see what happens. I plan on perfection the process of rooting rose cuttings for lahore's climate. Perfecting for me means more than 90% cuttings rooting.

You will have to maintain the moisture around them.... What was outcome of rose cuttings last time??

Today I have also planted some cuttings, it is my first ever attempt.

Last time I had them in a mixture of peat and sand. The Mali was watering them every day and they were under plastic in total shade. Winter was long last time. Most rotted from the top done and some down up. I used rooting hormone but did not use antifungal. Probably 20% survival or less. Some readily rooted like Double Delight and most David Austin's especially the climbers.

This time I even touched the cut tops of cuttings with antifungal paste!
