Has anyone tried propagating Amaryllis by cutting the bulb with skin in to 4 or 5 pieces and growing them. It isfaster and better than growing from seeds? Propagating from seeds will never be similar to the parent plant.

Propagation by cutting the bulb is common practice by the breeders abroad to get 100% same bublets but i cant afford it here as the bulbs are very expensive.once i read this method in an articale how to get faster bublets of the doubles.becuse they do not multiply rapidly in ground as the singles.now i plant them in pots to force the mother bulbs to rapdly multiply.i have never tried the seeds.
