Not sure. The guide knew but I couldn't remember. At the camp there were various books on plants and mosses in Patagonia. The small pinkish round balls were edible and tasted exactly like apples.

Nice shots. How far is it from Buenos Aires? The distance must be considerable.

We flew from Buenos Aires further south. A couple of hours then went to Los Glaciares National Park in Argentina and Torres del Paine National Park in Chile. It's near the tip of South Amercia.

Farooq Saheb the color of water is due to sediments. It wasn't relevant to the post but we went to Grey Glacier because it feeds Lago Grey (Grey Lake) and the lake is absolutely Grey. Some were blue and some were almost translucent blue.

Khabbab it was a lot of fun but taxing on the body. Trekking is a lifestyle and a frame if mind not meant for everyone. There is pleasure in pain and a closeness to nature you cannot experience during regular tourist trap tours with stops on lookouts. There are risks and injuries and that's part of the deal.

Steep climbs like these make the effort rewarding and give a solemnity to the awaiting view...
