Spring 2014

Post by khabbab »

Here are some pics from my container garden on roof top:

Dahlia fireworks mixed, From seeds.
Image

All my roses are first year except double delight.

Although my double delight gives a lot of flowers but flowers are small and fragrance is good but not overpowering. I prefer cherry perfait which is not fragrant but its blooms are solid and bush is more healthier than double delight.
Image

Burgundy iceberg, i am big fan of icebergs, they are top floribunda. First year, so kept only one bloom, rest pinching till next year.
Image

Brilliant Pink Iceberg, Own root. I have planted another own root pin iceberg at bottom of my neem tree as iceberg is very shade tolerant, i will show its pics next year.
Image

Fragrant plum grandiflora. Wonderful scent. I am enjoying my roses in pots a lot.
Image

This is French Lace, a floribunda, i love its color and its compact size. Own root.
Image

Image

A miniature rose, my kid removed its tag, its a famous named variety. Own root.
Image

Another mini rose, i think it is winsome. Own root.
Image

My first year growing galds, they flowered well. This variety is from prise seeds.
Image

Petunias and in center dimore.
Image

Amaryllis Tres Chick
Image

Carnation, I intend to keep them as perennial, lets see if they survive monsoons.
Image

In my soil bed

Pansy
Image

Aster Pink tower, From seed. The actual plant has around 6 flowers but i could not take picture.
Image

Brunfelsia, growing under neem tree, doing fine.

Tahir Glads even even comes in the darkest purple & Greens like Green wood picker.Tahir when i used to plant Glads i used to purchase from Awan commitee chowk. His Glads at that time were No 1 on the market & gave 100% results. He used to import 20-24 colors. You may try Awan.I think they may even still import the finest.Gladiolus is such a bulb which has the widest color range.
