My Hibiscus
Once I had 14 varieties of Tropical Hibiscus and no space for them, now I have space but only a few Hibiscuses.
I think it is time I start collecting them again.
The ones I retained
Hardy Hibiscus
Pictures are from my library.

Re: My Hibiscus
Very beautiful colours.
Just curious , are they all botanically Hibiscus plants or just related plants whose flowers happen to resemble the Hibiscus genus?

Re: My Hibiscus
There are two main types, Tropical hibicus, common to us. It can not survive in cold areas, the other variety is hardy Hibiscus, it dies at the surface in winter and re-sprouts in spring ( not all of mine came back), as it survive the snow it is called HARDY HIBISCUS. As it behaves like an annual the plant remains a small bush. The size of the flower is exta ordinary up to 10 inches accross, compare it with size of Cossmoss flowers in the last picture. The flower lasts only one day but bears lots of buds. It is mostly propagated from seeds but I did not get them to seed.M Farooq wrote:Very beautiful colours.
