Re: Crazy me
Arif sb you introduced a sad association with the desi gulaab with inteqaal, which I had not thought before. Lets look at it the other way, the red desi gulaab is used for wedding and almost any occasion of happiness from passing exams to job promotions.

Re: Crazy me
Presentation or display style do matters to recognise the esthetic of flowers. Some which we dont like because of any reason looks great and beautiful when seen some where esle. For example marigolds not look so good and appealing when i plant at my place but looks gorgeous when i visit gillani park exhibition or in Umar khan garden, sir munir's garden or recently hammad's post.

Re: Crazy me
Mirabilis is another plant I grew once and it took me three years to eradicate it from my garden. Balsam is another plant that I have stopped growing, for its habit of concealing the flowers under the foliage.
Dutch Mans pipe the small variety; I have one vine in a large pot and have no desire to add another except one with extra large flowers; reason again you have to find the flower amongst the foliage.
To conclude WOTI OHIO SONY JARI PIA MUN BHAYE.

Re: Crazy me
I paid a lot for the seedling of Melaleuca, took the bait from the advertised picture (below) and have learnt a lesson (do not buy any thing unless you have seen it in full bloom on the ground). I was told it was a new introduction and then I saw a full grown one in Lahore, yes I was dis-appointed, now mine has started to bloom, but no kicks.

Picture of my plant will follow in a day or two.

Re: Crazy me
In the picture the tree does not look that bad, particularly with flowers. What is your specific reason for disappointment? May be you start liking it when laden with blooms.Muhammad Arif Khan wrote:I paid a lot for the seedling of Melaleuca, took the bait from the advertised picture (below) and have learnt a lesson (do not buy any thing unless you have seen it in full bloom on the ground). I also have a Melaleuca tree( now quite common) whose foliage is different & looks good, but it does not bloom.I had heard about a red blooming variety resembling "Bottle Brush" tree, but not white one.Your tree does have foliage like Bottle Brush. Images of my tree - for comparison: Current image
