Liliums 2014-15
My saved Lilium bulbs were planted on 25th September are getting ready to bloom.
Yesterday I had a short very pleasant first visit to Mrs. Nausheen Sarfaraz home garden.
It was one of the best planned/maintained garden I have ever visited. My purpose of visit was to see her Liliums which were in full bloom.
I had the impression that she must be having varieties of Liliums but was surprised to see only one colour of Asiatic liliums in hundreds.
I came to know she treats them like Annuals, she plants them early (1st week of September) to get blooms now and again in April as her supplier will not accept an order less than a box of about 300 bulbs, so she is confined to one colour each year.
Her garden would be worth a visit in spring, May be I could arrange a visit for the forum friends.

Pictures of last two years show that irrespective of sowing time this red is first to bloom.
It would be interesting to see the sequence of other colours.
Your experience ?

I also like this color. So liliums strictly one stem per plant and 3 flowers per stem or it can be increased?

Yes one stem per bulb and one to multiple depending on size of bulb and Genetics. A stem in the second last picture has 8 buds.khabbab wrote:I also like this color. So liliums strictly one stem per plant and 3 flowers per stem or it can be increased?
