I went to Mir Afzal Sb. place few weeks back and we saw a beautiful small tree which was on sale in a nursery and was very expensive as well, I was amazed by the dark red flowers, I dont know if it grows in other cities, but we have never seen it in Karachi. I got few seeds from USA, got only 5 seeds to share, pm me if you want these, remember it is a tree and will take few years to bloom. here are the pics from internet:

Adnan, this good news... does it grow in Lahore?

I have 4 plants. Only one is relatively doing well. You have to protect them from cold in winter and heat in summer. I am fed-up of providing them special care, even the blooms are nothing to be proud of.

Izhar, I got them from Lahore Nursary Kalma Chowk.

I have seen old specimens in lawrence garden lahore. The blooms cover whole plant. The species suberosa is also common in lahore. I would love to have the seeds Izhar. Sent you PM if you still have the seeds.

I grew lots of them from seed and planted them in a park nearby where they flowered only after a year.Blooms cover the whole plant.This plant is available in Lahore at many nurseries.I think I ve a couple of them in pots on my terrace.

Yes of course it grow in northn region ihave even seen its tree in Abbotabad.i have two trees in Mardan.i purchased it from Islambad.from seed it will flower after 3 years.its better to purchase a well established potted plant

I planted aroun 12-15 plants from seed which flowered the following year.umm ,at the age of 14 months precisely.
