I have seen water Hyacinth at many places but I have never seen them blooming, do they bloom in our climate?

Water hyacinth, official provincial flower of Sindh, is very common in punjab and sindh. It is a weed here. Very invasive. I would prefer tropical water lilies instead of water hyacinth. But because of dengue issue, i have discarded the water lilies ponds.

Louisiana Iris can stand in water also. Maybe put your best liked in a pot and submerge it in the pond?

Yes, they do, once the plants have established themselves- no fragrance unlike other "hyacinths". They have very beautiful purple flowers with one unique petal. It is an invasive weed which is very detrimental to underwater life, since such closely packed weed literally blocks any light reaching underneath the water surface.Hamad wrote:I have seen water Hyacinth at many places but I have never seen them blooming, do they bloom in our climate?
