There is another very good approach by some generous members like umar khan. Share your precious plants in form of bulb offsets or cuttings. If you lose your plant, you can still get it from that person who used your cuttings/offsets.

I must say Umar Khan has a superb approach i also believe in propagating plants and spreading them among members so if i do'nt grow a plant one season or am not able to collect its seeds i can request from other members to contribute... excellent

Ive also soaked a vigna caracalla seed in water, its been 3 days but i did'nt see any activity in the seed like seed coat breaking up or root comming out
maybe the seed is no longer viable
