Hostas

Hostas are sprouting and this time plants are much more heatheir if compared with last year.

Lovely....i failed miserably growing them from seed. i would attempt again though

Beautiful ! Do these grow from seeds or bulbs & do they produce flowers also & which colour ?

With Proper care, we can grow this plant in Lahore also. I tried from seeds but no success. Then decided to grow from roots.

Probably total shade in Lahore. What about watering in dry hot May/June and wet hot July/August?

Hosta is a delicate plant according to our climate but its not hard to grow in Lahore and Islamabad. You will not believe I have seen Patriot Hostas under full sun and temperature was 40C in Muzaffarabad. Weather of Muzaffarabad is very strange, very hot in summers and unbearable cold in winters.

I have killed many Hostas and after so many experiences I come to know, these are shad loving plant and we can grow only those Hostas which are for Zone 9. Needs Watering twice in May and June, in rainy season, shift them under open sky for rain waters. Hostas never rot because of water but hot summers kill the plant.
