lovely. I also love Gerbera but here are my problems:-
Sowing from seeds had not worked. Its been about an year now but no signs of bloom.
Plants available on nurseries are 1) not good quality 2) are costly.
Any suggestions?
Sir Munir was looking for some options in Rawalpindi region, sir any news about that?

gerbera are very easy to grow from seeds but they don't come true to type..doubles changes into semi and singles.key to gerbera starting from seeds is to sow seeds fresh as soon as possible.

khan sb till now gerbera is very easy plant for me.i am growing gerberas from previous 4 years.first year i lost 50 % due to heat second year 25 % and now i am successful to low the mortality rate.i am growing them in ordinary soil nothing special although they are in shade they get just 3 hours of morning sunlight.now a days i am feeding(drenching) them foliar NPK two spoons in 10 liters. in my experience best method to grow gerbera is to keep their crown above surface level.remember all my experience is with local single and double gerberas.it is my first attempt to grow tissue culture gerbera.for me winter is no problem they just die in moon soon.in mardan winter is more harsh then lahore. never tried to grow them in pots.
