Awan Gardens Islamabad

Post by khabbab »

Although i am yet to receive their fall catalog, i checked the prices of bulbs.

Belladona lily - 60Rs
Ranunculus/Paperwhite/Freesia 40Rs
Anemone 20Rs

Now Paperwhite was available at Rs 15 from sunny view seeds last year and the bulbs flowered very well for me, in fact they naturalized. Freesia was 35-40 Rs and Ranunculus was 30Rs. But Awan gardens told me that price is high because the size of bulbs is larger this year. Anybody can compare their bulbs from those available in lahore? Quality wise whose bulbs are better?

Just like Dahlia..for Ranunculus size of the tubers doesn't matter, the prices are awfully high..

However, for bulbs and corms e.g. Belladonna lily, Gladiolus, Freesias, Amaryllis, Calla lily, Paper whites, Daffodils e.t.c. ... bigger the bulb or corm ------> better the size and color of bloom...

everybody is right here because im also very dissapointed with chanan din as they promise you something else and send you something else its all a marketing gimick to lure the customers by saying that the bulbs are bigger this year etc.. seeing is believing :x

I dont have good experience with Awan Garden. They just sell with inaccurate information. Most of the time, their provide low quality seeds in colorful packaging and name it F1 and imported. But I dont have much choice, so I buy fertilizer and gardening tools.
