no wonder i couldnt find any pink ones this season you got all of them :D caladiums are one of my favourite plants i am sitll waiting for mine to sprout any suggestions how to boost the process??

Hahaha......I don't know which ones I bought but he said he had 20 varieties (all unlabeled) and I said.......what the heck, let's try them all :D

Mir saheb I must say again.....I love your shady area, it is really a pleasure to look at. Proof that shady areas need not be boring.

What did you pay for the caladium bulbs?? I found some good qaulity bulbs from sunny view on mall road

I paid Rs 75 per bulb. I think they were reasonable sized.

Dear friends thanks for your kind words & appreciation, this is an old post of 2010-11 season & becomes alive because of chickoo34 query. This year the caladiums from last four years saved bulbs was not in good conditions, and my new bulbs are in sprouting phase. All the new ones are named varieties & good sized bulbs from More Green Lahore.

how exactly do caladiums grow ? i mean do they shed their leaves? go dormant some time and do you have to remove the bulb and replant it ?
i love ferns for shady areas and the best bit it there are so many different types .

My first time trying them. They'll go dormant in the winter. I'd leave them in the pot. If you're putting them in the ground make a raised bed and keep them dry when dormant.
