Re: my garden need advice...
That is one beautiful patio! Very creative and healthy plants.
It appears to me from sun angle that you have a north facing garden with high structure obstructing sunlight. I suppose you won't get enough sunlight in summers either.
I would advice shade perennials as you already have worked nicely with them.
For annuals in spring, you can get yourself Cineraria, mimulus or pansy to brighten up the place, but as the season is already halfway gone i would suggest getting ready to flower plants of above mentioned. For summer you can get seedlings of impatiens & annual vinca in March/April.
Some other suggestions to add color in future.....
Coleus (grown for foliage many shades available)
Heuchera (foliage/flower wide color range)
Hoya or Hosta if you can get hold off.
Shrimp plant
Duranta
Abutilon
Persian Shield
Kalonche and there is a huge list of shade perennials.
Photos of some can be seen here, others you can google

For grass you can try adding Urea or DAP fertillizer and handsome watering frequently. It might cover up the barren patches with time. You can also put some more grass for quick cover up. If your American grass(Zoysia tenuifolia) is really American it will do well in shade.

If you can get hold of silt(river soil) spread one odd bag it will soften up the ground and assist grass in spreading. Mow regularly it helps grass spread horizontally. Grass likes to stand in water once watering. Before each watering spaced few days apart sprinkle urea grains available easily in market.

A piece of art..The grass should soon catch up with a little care in watering, fertilizing, weeding, mowing & patience.

If you can grow Hostas and Bletilla striata, then you can try Camellias, too.
