FOOTBALL GROUND LAWN Maintenance

Post by Omersattar »

I am running a 7 a side football ground of 20,000 square feet area. It's 7 a side football game lawn. Games are played from afternoon till night. Dhaka grass is used for lawn.however the grass is tearing off from the middle. Is there any way to maintain a green grass in whole lawn without tearing off. I have also banned the usage of studs shoes and instead flat jogers are used for the games. Can someone please resolve my mystery of keepin the lawn full of green grass

Dhaka(bermuda) is an ornamental grass.....whatever football fields i have seen, they are using local "Jungli grass". Its more resilient. If somehow you can revert back to it. Anyway its good thing that you have banned studs.

Most resistant grass to wear is bahiagrass. See this post

I would be tempted to use astroturf, or the equivalent artificial grass,,, brilliant stuff for playing surfaces
