Oh my goodness so beautiful Gerberas.Imran sb let me post some of mine next week. Your Florist gerberas are so exotic! Dr sb sharp drainage is the key of growing these beauties & also some protection from frost. Keep in mind you may loose some plants in the winter. So nice Imran sb Mashallah.
I,l try to post but your photograpy is great Mashallah. I am not a good photographer nor i have a good camera Ha ha ha.

Buying the tissue culture Gerbera tiny plants which till last year were available at rupees 150 each are worth buying. Once established they tend to bloom throughout the year often 3 times during the year. Can be divided after 3 years via root division.Do not require any fertilization at least for me. The colour and varieties especially in the Florist Cillection are eye catching and in various shapes and sizes. Provide them a site having raised bed with good drainage and sunshine from morning till noon and shade protection from afternoon sun during our summers and they will survive and flourish. Even providing them with these optimal conditions one should be prepared to replenish 20% of the tissue culture varieties as they are not as robust compared to the desi single coloured gerberas. So overall they are worth buying despite the casualties especially during the monsoon onslaught.

I would not advise buying gerberas grown from seed especially the Goldsmith varieties despite the urging or guarantees of nurseries or seed shops as the survive rarely in the 2nd year.

Actually Umar khan I rarely use my digital camera. All the photos were taken from my cell phone equipped with only a 5 mega pixel camera. There is a new phone by Sony having 20 mega pixel camera. I have noticed that occasionally the cell phone cameras are able to capture the exact tone of dark blue or purple colour which is problematic to capture accurately on digital cameras having 12 mega pixels.

There are two nurseries based in Lahore which import them from a florist licensee based in Bangalore. I believe they will import in the coming 2 months and I'll message you when they are available once I get the information.
