i bought these as tiny plants. With the exception of "Sweet Autumn Clematis", other clematis varieties are hard to propogate. The best Clematis varieties for Lahore are the Viticella varieties. They are more likely to withstand heat.

Beautiful. It's great to see Clematis growing and flowering in Lahore. Florida Sieboldii seems to be an old plant. How did it do last summers?

Thanks for sharing these stunning pics :)

How old and how big are these plants? Do they die back in winter? What is the blooming period, have they survived the summer? and where did you get them?

These are two year old plants which were bought from Adnan. Some of the varieties tend to die back in the winters and need to be pruned heavily for more blooms. I did not prune the varieties hence the blooms are lesser. For lahore, the viticella varieties are the best. They do not suffer from clematis wilting and are resistant to heat. Florida Sieboldii which is not a viticella variety also tends to perform well in Lahore. They need to be protected from the sun during the summers and are likely to perform better if planted in a bed with dappled shade from 11:am onwards during the summers. The John Innes compost mixed with perlite tends to suit them. The bloom only last from a few days. Viticella varieties tend to repeat bloomers.

Beautiful Clematis vines and blooms, I love your Florida Sieboldii. I have two different vines with pink and blue blooms. Here is photo of Pink one (Last year). Now both vines are on buds. Will upload photos soon.
