Farhan your suggestion would be valid for annuals not for perennials like Gerberas which if planted in the well drained site having sunshine in the morning and shade during tend to form healthy clumps within 2-3 years as evident in the fourth picture from the top in recent post. The minimum spacing should be atleast 15 inches which would ensure better air circulation effectively thwarting the spread over of possible diseases.
