Perennial Asters

Post by mikhurram »

Asters are mostly grown as an annual in Pakistan. I have a variety of Asters in 3 colours that tends to remain evergreen through the year and blooms twice in an year (March/April and September). These Asters can be propagated easily through root division or by taking stem cuttings from side shoots. This is a tall variety and grows up to 24 inches and inevitably requires stalking.

They require support as the stems attain a height around 24 inches. I haven't heard about the Aster Tall variety as this was gifted to me by a friend who propagated these Asters through stem cuttings. This variety is also known as a cut flower variety seen often in florist shops.
