Easter Lily (Lilium longiflorum)

Post by mikhurram »

Easter lilies can be saved provided they are kept in a refrigerator from May till September (same chilling method used for lilliums).

These trumpet shaped flowers are quite fragrant.

Not available at any nurseries or seed shops as it seems to be a forgotten plant. These are old bulbs saved each year through refrigeration.

I have planted it several times to naturalize but it failed to flower in next year.I think it needs chilling hours which our climate does not provide.I love its natural Lilly fragrance.I have even four blooms per stalk. It was available at Pak Flora nursery Islamabad.
