Asim Nawaz shb is right.

Tulsi is a different plant, which is considered sacred in Hindu culture = Ocimum sanctum

And our (Pakistani) basil is Ocimum basilicum = Niaz boo (or spelling variations thereof).

I guess they differ in aromatic strength.

Farooq

Dear M. Farooq
You are right. Tulsi is different plant botanical name Ocimum sanctum. I want to know in spring season at Lahore, day temperature will be 29 and night temperature will be 11. Basil seeds germinate easily.
Best Regards
Asim

I purposefully mentioned Niaz Boo, as it is the commonly available Basil . Tulsi is a perennial plant. If you have the seeds, you can sow now, temperatures are favorable. however, seasoned gardeners as likes of khabbab recommend starting perennials in fall, as it gives them the time to establish well.

Munirs shb, I didn't get your point :-(

This is what Mr. Asim wrote "Dear M. Farooq You are right. Tulsi is different plant botanical name Ocimum sanctum."
