AOA, Asim, so far we have the impression that, the bigger the pot and fewer the bulbs better it is, but is it so?
To my mind there are multiple factors involved;
1 Surface area of soil required by the roots of a bulb.
2 The depth to which roots can grow.
3 The nutrient requirement and there availability.
I plant Amaryllis in 10 inch pots up to 3-4 bulbs, Lilium, 5 bulbs in 14 inch pot, Foot Ball lily 5 bulbs in 18 inch pot and Rain lilies 50 or more in 12 inch pot.
I feed them at least once a month.
Next year I plan to put 9 bulbs of lillium and Foot Ball lily in 18 inch pot for experiment.
