Re: Hedychium (Ginger Lily)
Actually I already have this plant and the pot that I have received from Imran Khurram sb is available for you and you can take up during your next visit with out any hesitation. Mine plants are also loaded with buds and hope those will open during your visit.
Imran sb your plant is lush green and beautiful. I can see a small plant behind this ginger lily in your first photo, what is that?

The one in the center whose foliage is beneath the flowers of Hedychium appears to be Spathiphyllum (Peace Lily).by Kaleem » October 20th

Imran sahib
What about these ginger lilies?
http://www.crocus.co.uk/search/_/search.ginger/sort.0/
Their offer is reasonable. What about group purchase? Who will manage this time? They have good bulb collections with 50% off.

Kaleem Sahib,
The prices are on a higher side despite the discount and most of the varieties are out of stock.

Re: Hedychium (Ginger Lily)
Interesting article and it was news for me that the buds and flowers are edible which i would't advise experimenting as the word "reportedly edible" used in the article has created some doubts in my mind. Kaleem sahib you may wish to experiment and inform us about the outcome as i do not wish to end up being dead by eating buds of Ginger Lily based on heresay
The fragrance mentioned resonates with my view.

Re: Hedychium (Ginger Lily)
I read in an article that if a person mistakenly eats a tadpole assuming to it to be a mushroom, there is no immediate reaction and the person tends to die suddenly after 4-5 days and those thinking of growing mushrooms are advised to buy them from the shelves of the supermarket to minimize the risk.
