Re: Vine is dying
My Guess....its some insects
Summer itself is proving to be a disease with lot of insect infestations.

I guess the actual problem is with roots.. they seems to be dead and are rotting...

Re: Vine is dying
BTW have you seen any pests on it??
If the roots are dying then it should be taken out ..washed and the dead roots trimmed, apply some rooting powder and plant in coco peat.. it will root faster..

Re: Vine is dying
They grow better in Islamabad. I got some seeds. 2 germinated. One died already, second on deathbed. Vegetative propagation also possible.

Re: Vine is dying
No pests i could see though there are holes in some of the leaves. In this heat, transplantation will surely kill it, i am not brave enough. The strange thing is, the leaves are not wilting they are just dry and crisp, local malee said this is just under watering. But stems are not wilted at all, only leaves. I am watering it more, may survive.Izhar wrote:BTW have you seen any pests on it??

Re: Vine is dying
Scratch the trunk of the vine at the base and create a small mound with bhal covering the scratch hopefully the development of new roots will encourage growth maybe it will save the vine.

Re: Vine is dying
The scratch was already there may be cat did it but it was very dry, no green. Malee covered the trunk scratch with the soil mound and said it will grow fine now. But no improvement yet. Should i try ground layering?AhmadIrfan wrote:Scratch the trunk of the vine at the base and create a small mound with bhal covering the scratch hopefully the development of new roots will encourage growth maybe it will save the vine.
