Re: for pond lovers
I once grew water hyacinth in a small pot. Extremely invasive. Then i threw it and went for water lilies. The variety of water lilies and their beautiful colors is alone enough to make a pond beautiful. The famous cultivars of lotus including mrs. perry D are very beautiful as well but seeds are more costly when compared to water lilies. IMO,lotus are not as tough plants as water lilies. Both need to be protected in winter in lahore though.Muhammad Arif Khan wrote:My pond is almost ready. There are some pretty water lily ponds in GCU botanic garden and in PU department of botany as well. In fact there is another very large lotus pond inside Lawrence gardens having fish as well.

My pond is ready and waiting for Khabbabs water lilies to wake up. As an experiment I have put in some silver carp fish, to be replaced with gold fish.
