Hydroponics Systems

Post by soni barwar »

Hydroponics literally means "working water" (hydro=water, ponics=work). Practically, it means growing plants without using soil, delivering nutrients only by a aerated nutrient solution. Hydroponics systems can be either closed or open systems. In closed systems the same hydroponic nutrient solution is recirculated and the nutrient content is monitored and adjusted. Keeping the nutrient balance in such systems is a challenge and the hydroponic nutrient solution has to be sampled and analyzed every week. The nutrient solution composition has to be adjusted according to the results.

Hydroponics Systems

Post by soni barwar »

Hydrophobic system avoids the usage of pesticides and other chemicals during the growth stage of the plant bringing in a huge revolutionizing change and boosting the amount of nutrition induced in a crop. The plants grown from this technique are high in nutrition and give more yields than the normal expected traditional mode of cultivation.

Hydroponic gardening

Post by soni barwar »

Hydroponic gardening is a form of indoor gardening that uses no soil yet is highly successful at growing a huge variety of plants. One of the hydroponics supplies you will need to keep in good supply if you are a hydroponic gardener is plant nutrient. Nutrients are hydroponics supplies that are formulated so that plants will respond in specific ways, so you can customize the nutrient to each of your plants' life cycles to give them everything they need.

The Water Culture method

Post by soni barwar »

The Water Culture method is common hydroponics system method that uses a raised gardening system. Within this method the plants are suspended on a Styrofoam platform which floats within the nutrient-rich water where an air pump is used to give oxygen to the plants by creating bubbles. This hydroponics method is perfect for leaf lettuce and other fast water-growing plants. This indoor gardening system is best used within a classroom setting to assist in the demonstration of the basics of growing plants.

Aquaponics is much better system as compared to Hydroponics. Aquaponics is essentially the combination of Aquaculture (growing fish) and Hydroponics (growing soilless plants). Both aquaculture and hydroponics have some down sides, hydroponics requires expensive nutrients to feed the plants, and also requires periodic flushing of the systems which can lead to waste disposal issues.
Re-circulating aquaculture needs to have excess nutrients removed from the system; normally this means that a percentage of the water is removed, generally on a daily basis. This nutrient rich water then needs to be disposed of and replaced with clean fresh water.
When we look at combining the two, these negative aspects are turned into positives. The positive aspects of both aquaculture and hydroponics are retained and the negative aspects no longer exist.
I have some very good e-books & videos on aquaponics, If anyone interested let me know.

Assalamoalaikum
Thanks for the knowledge about Aquaponics.
Though I already had some research on it but your explanation is really worth knowing.
I will be obliged if you let me benefit from the ebooks and other materials you have about Aquaponics.
