A suggestion from a greenhorn, I think there is a vital part missing from this forum and it’s the information about the "Gardens of Pakistan", why I said a vital!! What’s the connection??

Our forum is all about gardening and it will be great to have information about Gardens of Pakistan on it.

We have beautiful gardens with stunning landscape and historical features but unfortunately no one put any effort to create a complete database (with the information including plants’ and trees’ names and pictorial presentation for each garden) according to my limited knowledge.

for an example we have two very beautiful gardens in Wah with historical features, one is Share Shah Garden also known as Losar Bowali because of having Bowali (old style water source) in it, and the second Garden is Wah Garden established by Mughals, and quite near to wah is Hassan-abdal where we have Anarkali Tomb garden, I think that most of our forum members wouldn’t familiar with these beautiful places.

If we could have a sub section under the name of Gardens of Pakistan then with the help of our members we could have a vary first data base of "Gardens of Pakistan" with the details of plants and trees along with pictorial presentation, as our members are from all-over the Pakistan and they can cover their local gardens.

I was searching for “gardens in Pakistan” but unfortunately there wasn’t much information available and especially I was looking for Lahore’s Gardens as they are the most famous and beautiful, I would like to visit them again because it’s been a while when I visited them and my memories are fading away.

While I was searching for gardens of Pakistan I found a site with a limited information about our Gardens in Lahore and most interesting thing that I found was Khabbab sb post in it,

http://www.gardenvisit.com/gardens/in/pakistan

And post was related to Lawrence Gardens (Bagh-e-Jinnah)

Probably the oldest and one of finest gardens of pakistan. As per wikipedia, it has almost 150 varieties of trees, 140 types of shrubs, 50 types of creepers, 30 palms and many varieties of annual flowers.

The flower show held every year in spring and the annual chrysanthemum show in autumn is worth visiting. You will find many kinds of butterflies and hummingbirds (sunbirds) here as well.
My favorite trees from this garden are gul mohar (delonix regia), magnolia grandiflora, jacaranda and others. Some water lily ponds are beautiful as well.

And felt really happy to see that, if we have such a knowledgeable people on the board then why can’t we do such a small effort, if we start this section and all the members will contribute into it then we will be able to create a spec on the web having all the relevant information about Gardens of Pakistan.

I would love to have this but Still it’s a suggestion if we agree then we may proceed or otherwise the idea would be dropped
