Late sowing of winter veges
I am bit late for winter vegeis as right now my cauliflower are about 4-5 inch plant, brocili is about an inch, cabbage is also about an inch ...should i cover them with plastic for better growth or leave them opeen...pl help

Above all are frost hardy, Yes plastic does encourage fast growth. You are late but i am hopeful you might be able to harvest something come early spring with these seedlings.

Hadi! How are your cauliflower and Brocili plants are doing, did you manage to harvest vegetables from these plants. Just curious, mine are doing okay but no flowers so far and Dec is already gone.

No offense to any senior but this picture went through me today when i was try to find something about winter gardening.
As i am also too late for kitchen gardening and was curious to plant something in this harsh winter.
Even though this resource is old but i must be some worth still in 2013.

You are not late... but seed sowing season is over, if you plant the seeds they will germinate but you wont get a good crop... seedlings of winter vegges can purchased now..

I was wondering about growing corn this year… How much do you recommened to plant for just 2 people (and friends)? and how much space would I need for this crop?
