Re: Suggestion for indoor plants.
if you are new then I would suggest to start with easy plants for indoor, if flowering is must then you can try bizzy lizzy, Mimulus, and the best as per my choice is Orchids, Hyacinth in vases and Amazon lily, and if flowering is not required then you could have some foliage plants like Caladium (foliage is quite colourful and showy that compensate flowering) and swiss cheese plants (massive variety) or ferns could be planted and all above mentioned plants could be planted in pots.

Re: Suggestion for indoor plants.
for buzzy lizzy sowing time is late fall to spring or you may find some seedlings at local nursary and for Hyacinth this is the right time to plant the bulbs in vases but you have to buy these specific vases made for growing bulbs, also find the following links for more information on how to grow themwhitetiger297 wrote:I think so I will go for bizzy lizzy and hyacinth

following link is from Khabbab sb

and in the same manner you can grow any bulb indoors like Daffodils (gul-e-nargis), Amaryllis and few more find the following link for other bulbs for force blooming indoors

or in simple and (dasy) manner, if you get a pot without a whole at the bottom or just block the whole with some plaster and then put some (Bajri or Ships)/(Shingles or pebbles) in it, atleat three quater of your pot and then fill it up with water in such a way that the water level should be just under the medium, now place your bulbs on the top, the bottom of the bulb and water should not get in contact there should be a couple of ml gap, place them in a well lit area and they will grow only on water and hopefully they will bloom, but you have to sterlise the water, the pot and medium for better results, just to avoid any contamination or fungus. for more dacorative appearance you can use crystal vase with jelly balls.
but I will suggest to start with simple Hyacinth with bespoke Hyacinth vases and then later you can try some other bulbs like Daffs with above mentioned tech.
going forward if there will be any questions do ask.

Re: Suggestion for indoor plants.
yes you can, and for Amaryllis you can also use soil as a medium for indoors.
check the following link for Amaryllis with soil medium indoors

and in my above post read whole as hole, sorry commit this mistake in a hurry

Re: Suggestion for indoor plants.
I have the same issue. I am thinking of decorating a path way in house with a plant that gives flowers all over the year and if it is fragrant that it will be good and it should be shade plant and it requires less space i.e suitable for 8 to 9 inch container. Please suggest some plants which sticks with the requirement or are nearer to it. Help would be appreciated.

Mustansir I dont think its possible to get flowers through out the year from one plant "as per my limited knowledge", but you could get flowers year round from different plants, you have to plan and overlap the plants according to their flowering time, like now its Hyacinth later it will be some other plants.Mustansir Billah wrote:I have the same issue. you got to have something for each season and swap the pots accordingly, and it also depend how much light your indoors recieve, the area should not be totally dependent on tube light or bulb.
yes but their is one option that could flower for longer (few months) and it suits KHI climate and its the most beautiful among all indoors "Orchids" but if you need fragrance then at the moment the option is Hyacinth.
