Hi Everyone

I went on holiday this year to see family in Dadyal Azad Kashmir, in July for two weeks and I decided to take a musa dwarf Jamaican red with me for trials. Musa drwaf Jamaican red has slightly less cold tolerance than a dwarf Cavendish. My cousin has been sending me pictures and updates how the plant has been fairing

Hi Izhar

This is a edible variety, which has red skinned fruit, it is more sweeter than a yellow skinned Cavendish.

I will be updating end of each month. I am interested how it will fair in December, January and February, it will take 18 months for it to fruit its first fruit cycle, as with all red Musa, then every year thereafter.

Hi Izhar

The banana was planted around 1ft deep into the ground, to protect the corm, just incase the pseudostem collapsed.Musa dwarf Jamaican red corm his zone 9 hardy.

I am hopping new leaves will start to appear in February, as long as the pseudostem remains untouched in the night time temps, even if previous old leaves die back.
