ID Iris(Solved)

Post by Muhammad Arif Khan »

Someone gave this Iris to me many years ago. Every effort to get them to bloom has failed; the plants have increased to hundreds without blooming. This spring two of them have bloomed.
Please give the ID for better management

I have read somewhere that certain Iris require a minimum chill period to bloom, maybe it is one of them.

I have grown it with pots sub merged in water tank and large pots with sealed bottom bogged with water and it did not bloom.

Sir i have read somewhere that mature plants that are atleast 2-3 years old bloom, they are readily available in nurseries here in Islamabad, only the large specimens that these nurseries carry bloom, the small plants that they sell do not bloom until fully mature.

10 years back grew it in a 12" pot, like a normal plant (i.e. without wet feet) and it was always in blooms...
