I am slowly developing my garden in Pakistan and my "mali" contacted me suggesting a white form of the normally purple nantra being available in one of the Lahore nurseries. Supposedly it is more exclusive and different, (subtly meaning its more expensive).
Ive tried to do some research but the only one references I can find online is to Iresine angustifolia Euphrasén, this appears to be green with some small insignificant white flowers and Alternanthera ficoidea White Variegata. (unsuitable as already have a variegated edging plant and I would end up with two different but equally dominant variegated plants next to each other)
I dont want to be disappointed and have to rip it out later. Anybody know if there is one on the market with pure white/cream coloured foliage for small edgings or what he may be likely referring to
Thank you
Ifzaal

Re: White nanthra
Golden Duranta with light or yellowish green foliage could be tried; you may not find a more light or white colour plant for the purpose.
Re: White nanthra
I did plant in April of this year golden nantra interspersed with iresine as colour tapestry change. understory planted it with zebra lily (dianella tasmanica variegata).
Havent been back yet but apparently all plants are doing well, the white nanthra was for another area of the garden to frame the lawn and compliment the ficus, eunymous and hibiscus topiary but thanks anyway

Re: White nanthra
i have yet to see a white Nanthra.
Below is picture a park in Lahore and the hedge combinations consisting of Duranta,Ficus and Nanthra look nice. Below is a link on Farhan subsection where i posted the pictures of this park and the photos are almost at the end of the page (2nd last from below). Hopefully it may prove to be useful for landscaping. viewtopic.php?f=72&t=2110&start=60
Pittosporum readily available in nurseries can also be used for hedging. I have posted some material on topiaries on viewtopic.php?f=101&t=2654
