Re: Need Identification
i would concur with Farooq sahab.....the said plant seems highly improbable from the said tubers. Generally tuber plants do not show such solid bulb like emergence. I tried to match the plant with various images and cilvia was closest. Regarding the Sun exposure..winter sun is less potent to cause any damage still slight tip browning is visible.

Re: Need Identification
Clivia and Spider plants haven't posses the tuber like this, The leaves are hard like Yucca Plant, I believe it's a baby yucca.

Re: Need Identification
I put 02 tubers in different pots, the other one didn't sprout yet, I believe because of winter cold, this pot has no bulb except this tuber. I purchased these from Turkey where the sales man has no idea about the name of this plant.M Farooq wrote:Syed Adnan wrote:This was the tuber.
It seems that the plant no.2 and tubers do not match. Becauce the tubers look like Dahlia tubers, and plant no. 2 seems to be growing from a bulb. Is it possible that the tubers never grew and this plant came from a remaining bulb from an old pot.
Kaleem shb, this is neither Phormax nor Chlorophytum because of the growth pattern. The leaves of Adnan's plant are growing in one plane, with sort of a mirror image symmetry (like a letter V) and the leaves are leathery.

Re: Need Identification
I am afraid that it is not yucca either. We have to look at leaf arrangement as well. Yucca leaves grow as a rosette and are roughly symmetrical spherically (as a spiral); whereas your plant leaves are growing in one plane as a V. Lets wait till it flowers :-(

You are right Mr. Izhar
Tubers and plant leave style are very similar to daylilies.
