ASA,
Does anyone know the proper scientific name of a woody plant that bears red flowers in bunches quite similar to Ixora? The leaves are simple. The bark is similar in colour to a mature motia. Once the red flowers have fallen a round globe of small green pointed sepals is left. Unfortunately I don't have a picture but I saw this in a nursery. The name which he pronounced and later wrote read like "Kam-paa-rda" where "rd" is our Urdu "rd" letter that is equivalent to Urdu name for peaches.
This name seems to be a mix of Latin Urdu names. Has anyone heard a similar sounding name of this woody plant? Bit curious about the name.
Thanks.

Thanks. No it was not a vine or climber. I wish I had a picture. So assume ixora type tubular flowers growing on a globular head or spike [in botanical senses]. I am feeling that the inflorescence pattern is so unique that it must be some little known family but quite common plant.Izhar wrote:Farooq, check Clerodendrum splendens images if it is the same..
The inflorescence was on somewhat this pattern. Woody plant.
