I have recently purchased some palm trees and I feel there is a great difference in the names used by the garden centres and the actual botanical names.
1. Images 1-3 are of a small palm which I bought recently. The garden centre told me it was 'Malaysian palm'.
My questions are: A. Is it Malaysian palm and if it is, is it the same as Manila/Christmas palm which normally come as double/triple in a pot? B. Is it for sure not Alexandra palm? I feel it may be Alexandra?
2. Images 4-5 are of a palm sold to me as 'Alexandra palm'. Is it Alexandra palm?
3. Images 6-7 are of a small plant sold to me as 'Fishtail palm'. Is it really fish palm or is it Foxtail palm?
Many thanks for your time and help
Please can you help me identify these few palm trees

Your photos seems to be messed up, coz very first photo seems a bit like fish tail but leaves are burnt and are in poor state so its hard to say anything, secound photo is just a cane cant say anything again, following photos looks like Alexandera Palm, if you could take few more photos and arrange them once again then we could tell and take few full shots as your shots are too close.

This is the seed of our common roadside tree Thevetia peruviana (called kanair by some or oleander). The sticky liquid and fruit is TOXIC, so dont eat the fruit! This is not a palm and next time please start a new thread for new questions.geechoo wrote:Can some one help me identify this fruit i picked up from a roadside tree in Rawalpindi.
