I am not sure about your species. Our local Erythrina is a huge tree which produces pods, but these species which you have mentioned above are very beautiful and don't have seeds. You can grow it as a medium sized tree, protecting it from a windy location and supports if needed. As you have noted the stems are very delicate. It needs full sun. And I think from what I have googled so far its erythrina suberosa, though crista-galli looks even more spectacular.
