Re: Customizing the garden soil
The problem in this area seems to be 'sunlight'.... without 4-5 hours direct sunlight none of the vegges can be productive... however, you can give a try as during summers there is much sun compared to winters... do not use anything for termites... just make sure you mix the well rotted manure well in the top six inches..
Vegetables/herbs which can produce in less sun are:
1) Lettuces
2) Basil
3) Mint
4) Spinach
5) Mustard (Sarson ka saag)
6) Kale
for leafy vegges only manure is enough... for fruit bearing plants additional fertilizer is required...

Re: Customizing the garden soil
Thanks Azhar bhai for the info.
I have observed the sunlight pattern in my garden and the result of it is shocking and hard blow to my cause and interest.
Only quater of my garden gets full direct sunlight just for maximum two hours from about 10:30 to 12:30.
And the rest gets almost no direct sunlight.
Condersing your post above i have sowed "SALAD" in the low/no sunlight region, is it a better decision considering the winters of KHI??

Re: Customizing the garden soil
Azhar bhai with all due respect, plants which you have mentioned in your latest post are hard to find, i mean, i visited old sabzi mandi for seeds, pesticides and fertilizers, i didnt find much seeds reserve over their.
But i did bring pesticides and 3L spray bottle at very good rate.
The 3L bottle cost me 600/=
and "ALL IN ONE" brand pesticide 100ml for 100/=

Sahrjeel, the seed sowing season is over by two months now... you will find fresh seeds in shops by March-April... now you have to buy seedlings from the nurseries...

Re: Customizing the garden soil
Sir i search net for my rescue for varieties of Salvia, quite beautiful plant, there are majorly four kinds of it.
1. Argent white
2. Blue Bedder
3. Strata
4. Victoria Blue
Which one you are referring?????? because, different type has differenet sun light requirement.
In general all Salvia Farinacea are good for sun and can even thrive in partial shades.
