Cestrum Nocturnum is also an equally worthy contender.

Re: Best three fragrant plants
It is a year since the last post during which we nave had enough time to evaluate the plants favoured by the members.
Here is my final choice
Fragrant white Plumeria with round tip leaves

Longest bloom period, one of the best perfumes and trouble free
Second is Motia, Fairly long blooming period, profuse blooming Perfume second to none, flowers plucked in the evening kept in a dish with some water keeps the house Spring Fresh till next evening,

Rat ki Ranni (dassi fragrant) 2-3 plants scattered around the house, when in bloom you can’t resist to stay out in the lawn in the evening.
Marwa is next to Rat ki Ranni
Brunfelsia For beauty and perfume You cant ignore.

Gardenia Beautiful flower with heavenly perfume, Only if the blooming period was a little longer and had more blooms

Ixora Chinesis

I cannot ignore the,
Oriental lilies

And Wisteria

Re: Best three fragrant plants
What a wondreful analysis. The best common point amongst most of them is fragrance. Thanks for sharing these beauties.

Re: Best three fragrant plants
Great list everyone. My favorites, though many, has to be the ones I grew up with. For purely nostalgic reasons of course
I grew up in Quetta and the scent of wild lavender and honeysuckle are very close to my heart. I also love the scent of maple trees. Plz can anyone tell me if they too can detect the heavy sweet scent of maple trees? I have asked quite a few ppl, and they deny smelling anything, but I know a maple tree is coming by just by the scent of it. Even if I'm driving around in car. It's very strong and sweet. So my list would be:
1: lavender
2: honeysuckle
3: either juniper or maple trees. Can't make up my mind.
OFF TOPIC:
I have a sad little story to share, I hope you don't mind.
The Markers ( of marker pharmaceuticals) were good family friends. I've heard their garden had lavender growing in abundance a long time back. They used to extract pure lavender oil for medicinal purpose. Sadly, I haven't seen their famous botanical garden in its glory days. It's heartbreaking to see such a beautiful garden in ruins now. Their garden is also famous for its boot house, which was built in 1800s by Ardisher marker for his children. It still remains standing amongst the long gone garden near saryab road Quetta.

Re: Best three fragrant plants
I have three raat ki rani plants and my house has a mesmerising fragrance in these stuffy evenings. Strongly recommended.
Another one is Chambali but everyone picks the flowers.
