Let the flowers of Marigolds dry completely in it's plant, than collect seeds like this http://gardenplotter.com/rospo/blog/upl ... 707309.jpg. only black seeds are important for marigolds.
Motia and similar plants don't have seeds .
Other members will help you for propagating roses, motia and other plants.

Take cuttings in spring and plant them in a free draining medium.Najum ul Saqib wrote:Kindly also tell about propagating crown of thorns plant

@Najum ul Saqib
Take around a 5 inches long cutting from crown of thorns plant with some leaves on it. Keep few top leaves of the cutting and remove all remaining leaves, Apply some rooting hormone at the bottom part of cutting where you made the cut. I do not know if rooting hormone is available in Pakistan or not. It looks like white powder and helps to grow roots very fast. Get an 8 inch pot, fill it a very good potting soil. Put the cutting in the soil at the depth of around 2 to 3 inch. Water it and make sure there is a drainage hole in the pot & place it in a spot with very bright indirect sunlight. Water it again whenever you see top 1 inch of the soil is dry. Best time for propagating cuttings of most plants is when danger of frost is past, just before spring.

Re: Collecting seeds or taking cuttings
Home-made rooting hormone!
SOURCE: http://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/grapev ... _7552.html
When starting a new plant from a leaf or stem cutting, the cutting will be more likely to form roots and create a new plant if a rooting hormone is used.
While commercial rooting hormone can be used there are organic homemade versions that work as well.
To make rooting hormone soak the yellow-tipped shoots of a weeping willow tree in water. A tea made from the bark of a willow tree is also effective. When using the shoots or bark soak them for 24 hours prior to using.
Some people have found that using honey makes an effective rooting hormone as well.
I haven't tried it....but I'm going to, if I get a chance!
PS I recently rooted three grape vine cuttings without using hormone...........just stuck em in the compost with a placcy bag over the top and they rooted fine! Done the same with chrysanths and pelargoniums so wonder whether rooting hormone is overated?
