It's healthy and eye catching but you're right. The flowers underneath makes it looks out of place. How about a little gravel with some hardy plants. Something like this

shazia .I don't see any flowers below the Bismarck palm.?
Newton hold your horses just trim the surrounding plants the palm will soon gain in height.you can then consider adding colour

I think perhaps Shazia meant the foliage of the variegated plant underneath. I cant remember its proper name right now but was described as Zebra grass. It is definately the wrong leaf shape and ccolour for accompanying that palm

This palm is wrongly located. Looked after properly it can grow rather big and very fast.

This Bismarkia Grew to this size in two years in spite of the fact that I am starving it to slow down its growth. now look at the Newtons palms in relation to the building.
