How to grow onion? Last year I saw one of the onion sprouting in the kitchen I put it in soil and enjoyed onions but now none of the onion can be grown because none of the onion sprouts. How to make it sprout?

You are placing ripe onions in soil to get more onions? It will grow, eventually, but you won't get more onions. That's unfortunately is a zero-sum game, where the loss is exactly balanced by the gain, for yourself :-)

I guess in this rainly season onions have a tendency to rot. If they are not sprouting, check the conditions of the onions.

what you are saying mr mustansar 20 onions from 2 onions..... :? first thing is that onion grows from seed and second it is impossible that a single onion can produce 10 offsets perhaps you are kidding or you are talking about garlic...

I don't have any rule of thumb for predicting which onion will sprout and which one will not. Any healthy onion should sprout once placed in soil.

Would you like to share how 2 onions can give 20 onions? It will be a miracle.

That makes sense & perfect sense!
You had confused all of the readers by saying that you placed an onion in the soil and you got 20 onions as a result. This is totally incorrect.
So you must have started from onion seeds or its paneeri.

That would be 'bunching onion' do you know that onion or any bulb planted very shallow will multiply rapidly like what happend with your two onions :)
