Re: Calla lily care
I also got mine from Pride seeds, planted on 8th of May, around 2 inchs deep in a mix of sand (rait) and manure, placed the pot in shade. During the nights of 9th and 10th may it rained heavily here. Fearing calla might rot, i took out the bulb. It was pretty much the same as when i planted it. This morning I planted it back, now only an inch deep and placed the pot in full sun as the medium is still wet.
Do i need to replace some sand with clay in its pot as it was full of rain water in the morning.

And now again after a burning hot sunny day, dark clouds have started covering the sky.

Re: Calla lily care
Brig saheb yours should start sprouting soon now, taking longer only as they are deeper. Just pray you get the colors you bought Haris, callas love moisture so yours should do fine in moist soil as long as it is well draining. I think they'll rot only if the pots holds water and doesnt drain. Also I suggest not to put them in blazing sun put part sun or filtered light since it is just too hot now.

Re: Calla lily care
A few days back I pulled them out. Except two most had grown roots and were showing buds. Strange for me the roots and sprouting was from the same side of the tuber. I have shifted them to pots and placed the pot under a tree. The growth is yet not visible.
The foot ball lilies are sprouting.

Re: Calla lily care
After waiting for around 1.5 month, this is what my calla looks like.
Lets see what follows next...
It is extremely slow growing bulb which has disappointed me A LOT.

I think you planted them late maybe? Mine took off pretty nicely but the weather these days is hard on them.

Yes i think u are right. Also whenever a new growth appeared birds attacked and ate it all. That led me to add this wood waste to the pot. Not only it hides the young leaves but also retains moisture.
