HELP, Spreklia and Amazon Lily
AoA Friends,
I have a dozen Spreklia bulbs and a couple of Eucharis plants.
In last ten years I got only one flower from Spreklia and none from Eucharis. I have done everything that I could think of, as planting them in full sun, shade, in pots, in ground, with holding water in winter and so on but to no avail.
Attention Tofiq Pasha HELP ME IF YOU CAN.

Re: HELP, Spreklia and Amazon Lily
Brig sb. some bulbs need to be pot bound in order to bloom and this is true in the sense of Eucharis, the like to be crowded in order to bloom and shocks such as foliage removal and holding water in winter months can induce them to bloom, also feed the bulbs with high potash and phosphate based fertilizers.

Re: HELP, Spreklia and Amazon Lily
I bought this sprekelia from pride seeds and i intentionally chose the one with flower bud already poking. I know the bud was already set from previous year so it did bloom here. Now let us see if this blooms next year too. I think the bulb should do dormant in winter and then it should set buds. But this is also my first year experience with this bulb.

Re: HELP, Spreklia and Amazon Lily
I am growing both plants, Spreklia and Amazon Lily since 2004 and both bloom for me every year. My Spreklias are in the ground, under full sun and Amazon Lilies are in the pots under full shade without any kind of plant foods or fertilizer with normal watering. This plant dislike heat in summers even hot air.
