Your experience regarding this beauty is requested.
When should it be planted say in Lahore ?
Best in pots or ground ?
How extensive is the root system ?
Fertilisation ?

No one is growing it i guess... except for two of us... mine will be planted next month, they will be sprouted in pots with plain soil and will be shifted to kiyaari after sprouting.. manure will be mixed in kiyaari's soil before planting....

Brig sahib,
I have been growing them. The tubers were replanted 10 days earlier and then will be taken out of their pots in November when dormancy sets in and these tubers will be stored in a box in a cupboard till end of March.

The gist of my experience (of Lahore) is;
The tubers can be left in the ground and will reliably return year after year, if not destroyed by tilling or animals.
Does not like full sun,semi shade is best.
One tuber, one plant, one stem, three to four branches near the tip before budding.
Grows up to 7-8 feet.
Good result in pots too.
I plan to plant them in the future around my Imli tree and forget.

Same experience in Karachi... I lifted the tubers but some were left in the soil, those lifted and replanted in summer were first to sprout.. the soil ones were almost 2 month late...
