Other Details | Bougainvillea is a remarkable woody climber. It is almost pest and disease free. It covers itself with flowers through out the year. Bougainvillea has plenty of thorns but they are widely spaced. So it is not difficult to handle the branches but this makes pruning difficult. The actual flowers are very small and white, it is the highly coloured and large bract (which look like ordinary petals)which makes this plant very attractive. The flowers are not fragrant. This plant can also be trained as a hedge. It is one of the most of easiest plants to grow, thus it is visible in many Pakistani gardens. However newer colored varieties are delicate plants and require care. Variegated varieties are also available these days |
