Showy Flowering Plants

Post by Muhammad Arif Khan »

I am a retired soldier of 78 years. I am interested in growing plants having charming flowers, which will grow in Lahore without much fuss. My basic interest is breeding Amaryllis. Currently I have bulbs in four figures. I am also interested in growing flowering trees, shrubs and vines in addition to annuals. I have visited quite a few countries.
I would be interested in exchange of plants, information regarding ornamental plants (their availability, growing conditions etc).
My address is Brig. M Arif Khan 3/A-G-Gulberg II Lahore. E Mail, brigarif@hotmail.com

Welcome aboard Brig sb.

This is Adnan from Lahore.I am 26.

I am also fond of flowering plants.I try to grow plants which are not common and are not available at nurseries. So I import them from abroad.I am currently growing 120 diff varieties of daylilies. They arrived only today so my father is planting them in soil beds right now :0).They are all registered ones and hope they'll be flowering this summer.I grow 2000 gerberas every year, hand pollinated, 90% double.I ve sold most of them this year in order to make room for daylilies and other plants.I imported 15 diff varieties of clematis (queen of flowering vines) for sale , but kept 5 of them for me.One is about to flower in a weeks time. Will share pix.

I have around 200 diff varieties of adeniums , pix are available in what's blooming section. They are crazy flowering plants.I always wonder how come such a small plant brings such huge flowers and in such gr8 numbers.

Other unique varieties that I am growing include Mucuna Sempervirens , Ferraria Crispa , Blueberry , Kiwi , aqueligias , 20'' flowering aristolochia , vigna caracalla. They are all unique and breathtaking plants.

Salams. Just joined this site. I am 38 and recently developed a passion for tropical gardening. For now my interest is in roses and perennial shrubs. Since I just started this hobby I am in the process of getting plants I'm interested in. I plan to bring some quality roses this time around when I return from overseas. It is very nice to be in the company of such enthusiastic and passionate gardeners! I'm sure I'll learn lots on this forum.
