Starting to build my rooftop garden

In near future I am going to build my studio at roof and surrounding area will eventually turn into garden and also serve as a gathering spot for likeminded people. I like to have plants with fragrance but also collect plants with unique features or vibrant colors. So far my knowledge for aromatic flowers is testified to harsinghar and moulsari, soon I will look at nag champa to find is it really as aromatic as people claim?
