Hi to All members of Gardening Pakistan. I am professionally a Banker and recently developed a interest in Gardening once shifted from Karachi to green city Lahore. Fertility of Lahore is amazing. I have little green area of 12.5 x 8 ft in front of my house. I have planted roses (different colors), Motiya (Jasmine sambac), Euphoria etc. in one of my garden flowers beds.

Guys I need your help to develop my Garden beautiful. Currently issue is what i plant in these hot days. I tried Zynia (hybrid F-1) , Cosmos, Gul Dupheri (Phortulaca) but only slower success received in Gul -e- Dupheri. Zynia gave one flower or two and then died, Cosmos growth rate is slow like anything. I want expert opinion from all members.

Gardening in summers in Pakistan is a real challenge even for seasoned gardeners due extreme heat and drought......
Regarding the growth rate....most plants especially annuals, seize growth when temperatures exceed 90-95 F, so its normal. When temperatures will go down to high 30s C, your portulaca and cosmos will bounce back.

Just keep watering at the moment...and quite a bit. Generally any amount you will give to plants in our summers is less. Be generous...i think your zinnia suffered due less watering.

Thank you very much for your prompt response. OK I am considering that I am missing any bit due to which conditions of my plants is not good. Your response make my moral high. Farhan guide me how many time I should watered plant. I am doing it twice. One in morning at around 7:30AM and second one in evening at 6:30PM.

Secondly my grass is going yellow when I put more water is this true? Grass has some yellow patches and not so much greener. Its dark green in colour.

Watering twice is good. If possible increase the duration between watering .......like if you are watering in evening next watering could be 10 am (if possible) that is because after late evening watering ground would still be wet in early morning. Its the mid day and afternoon when plants have to fight high UV index.
Its normal for grass to turn yellow in response of harsh weather may it be cold or heat. If you want to keep it green you can try increasing water.

There is another strategy....called hardening off............that is if you are starting plants from seed like zinnias, accustom them with less watering/drought. This will enable them to fight off sun even without less water.
