Temporary boat or barge bridges during winter and a permanent bridge under construction on River Indus, Nishtar Ghat i.e. between Mithan Kot and Chachran, both the towns famous after Khawaja Ghulam Farid the Sufi poet

Your first picture was a common sight along the GT road, big Banyan trees a pond and a well every 12 miles or so, were a pleasure to watch and rest 60-70 years ago even when travelling by those days cars. Pindi - Lahore took almost a day and only place you could get reasonable food were the Railway Stations.

A few Banyan trees left are perhaps around Mandra on GT road
